Fusion + Fashion is a yearly event, put on by the Northland Chapter of IIDA (International Interior Design Association) right here in good ol' MPLS! Local members of the design community participate in it by designing garments created out of non-traditional and/or building materials.
For us it is a yearly reminder to shake things up, to get wildly creative and to step way outside our design comfort zones! It's also allowed us the opportunity to meet fabulous designers from outside our field such as Mondo Guerra and Christopher Straub from Project Runway as well as Kate Arends from Wit & Delight, who have all participated as judges.
This year marks Fusion + Fashion's 10th anniversary and although we are not participating this year, we are as usual, overwhelmingly excited to see all the incredible designs our colleagues put together!
Here are some of our own winning designs from years past. We will follow up next week with a recap of this year's upcoming show!
This was our first taste of FUSION! We entered as students and took home the award for "Most Unique Material"!
Click through the galleries below to see photos from the show and images of the construction process.
This was our first year entering as The Crush Collective Team and we took home the prize for "Best Interpretation of a Photo"!
This was last year's show, we are still so honored and humbled to take home the award for "BEST OF SHOW"!
We can't wait to follow up next week with pictures from tonight's show at Muse! Check out the concept video below!
